Harambee Stars Betting in November 2026: South Africa Away and at Nyayo, the Markets and What KSh 1,000 Returns

Harambee Stars betting in November 2026 centres on two AFCON 2027 qualifiers against South Africa. The away leg is on Friday 13 November. The home leg is at Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday 17 November at 7:00 pm. Benni McCarthy named a 36-man provisional squad on 29 October.

Harambee Stars in Group D of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers

CAF drew Kenya into Group D with South Africa, Guinea and Eritrea. Kenya opened at home to Eritrea on 26 September 2026 and travelled to Guinea on 1 October. Matchdays three and four are the double-header against South Africa in November.

Kenya co-hosts the 2027 finals with Uganda and Tanzania and is already qualified. CAF's rule for the group is that only the highest-placed team other than Kenya goes through. The Stars use the campaign as preparation while their opponents play for one place.

The provisional squad named on 29 October 2026 has five goalkeepers, thirteen defenders, seven midfielders and eleven forwards. Michael Olunga, Joseph Okumu, Eric Ouma, Byrne Omondi and Ryan Ogam are in it. Aldrine Kibet and Zak Vyner are the newer names.

The home leg is the one with the deeper market. A 7:00 pm kick-off in Nairobi sits in prime time for every shilling bookmaker. The away leg is priced on the morning of 13 November, once the hosts confirm the venue and kick-off time.

Markets a bookmaker prices on a national team match

The 1X2 line comes first, and on a qualifier it opens about a week out. Around it sit double chance, draw no bet, over or under 2.5 goals, both teams to score and correct score. Half-time result and the first goalscorer appear on match day.

Draw no bet suits a match where the stake is on Kenya but a 0-0 at Nyayo is a live outcome. The stake comes back on a draw. The price is shorter than the straight win to pay for that refund.

In-play markets run on both legs. Next goal, the total goals line and the match result are repriced after every attack, with a delay of a few seconds on each bet. Cash out appears on the slip once the match starts, at the brands that offer it.

The league post covers how domestic prices arrive late. A qualifier is the opposite. It is priced early and traded heavily, so the opening price and the kick-off price differ.

What KSh 1,000 on a qualifier returns after the two taxes

The arithmetic is the same as on any sportsbook bet at a GRA licensee. A KSh 1,000 M-Pesa deposit carries the 5% excise from the Finance Act 2026, so KSh 950 credits the account. Take a draw no bet price of 2.00 on Kenya as the working example.

KSh 950 at 2.00 returns KSh 1,900 before tax. The 5% withholding takes KSh 95 on the payout, and KSh 1,805 arrives in M-Pesa. If the match is drawn, the KSh 950 stake is refunded. That refund is also a payout, so it carries the same 5% deduction.

A straight win price of 2.60 turns the same stake into KSh 2,470, which lands as KSh 2,346.50. The difference between the two markets, KSh 541.50, is the price of covering the draw.

At Melbet, 1xBet and the other brands in the Kenya ranking, both legs sit under the international qualifiers tab. The betting apps page lists the Android and iOS builds that carry the in-play screen.

The road to the 2027 finals

The federation's PAMOJA 2027 page runs a countdown to the tournament Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will stage together. The November window is the last competitive football the Stars play in 2026. The remaining group matches follow in 2027.

Between windows, a punter who follows the squad has the league to work with. Kenya Police, Gor Mahia and KCB supply much of the domestic contingent. Their league form is priced every weekend on the home-page board.

A home qualifier is the match that moves most money on the ranked brands. Compare the Kenya price across the board on the morning of 17 November before the slip goes in. A 2.50 and a 2.65 on the same win is KSh 142.50 on a KSh 950 stake.

Questions punters ask

Do the qualifier results matter if Kenya has already qualified?

Kenya qualified for AFCON 2027 as a co-host with Uganda and Tanzania, so Group D decides which one of South Africa, Guinea or Eritrea joins them. For a bet the result is settled on the 90 minutes and the published score. A home win at Nyayo pays whatever the group table says.

When does a national team match get a price?

A qualifier against South Africa is priced about a week before kick-off at the ranked brands, earlier than a domestic league match. Markets widen on match day, when the starting elevens are confirmed. In-play lines then run from the first whistle to the last, with a short delay on each bet.
